Properly Planning Your Wedding Invitation List Can Greatly Reduce the Possibility of an Unpleasant Scene Occuring

We all have that select group of people in our life that are a social nightmare waiting to happen. They strike fear into everyone's heart at family gatherings, work meetings, social events, incidental run-ins, and anywhere else they appear. Some of these people could include embarrassing relatives, people who have managed to attach to friends, loved ones, or coworkers. They can also be an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, or the friend or friends you used to hang out with that never grew up. Regardless of who these people are, they have the potential to cause a lot of turmoil and awkwardness at your wedding and reception. There are several ways to avoid an embarrassing incident with these unwanted guests that you may want to consider.

If you are lucky, you may be able to it escape this situation by not inviting your embarrassing associate, but it may not be that simple. If you do not invite them and they find out about the wedding date, they are likely to crash the wedding, or make your life a living hell long before your wedding day. If the people you are worried about attending your wedding are sure to hear about it, depending on how determined you are to ensure they are not at your wedding, you may have to confront them. Telling them you do not want them there will probably end whatever relationship you have, but if you are set against having them at your wedding, you probably are not close to them anyway. However, this possibility is out of the question if your embarrassing person is a close relative or in good graces with your fiancé, but it does not mean that you are out of options.

The worst case scenario is that your embarrassing guest will respond to the priest when he asks if anyone has any objections or reasons you should not be married. Luckily this part of the ceremony is commonly skipped in this day and age, and you can request this of your minister. However, if someone does have an objection, hopefully you can quickly glaze over it, by simply ignoring the person, or if necessary, having them removed. If you anticipate this happening, you may want to employ the help of your friends and family to prevent this from happening. Hopefully a stern talk will help, but if there is any doubt, sedatives could be the answer. If other people at your wedding feel the same way about this person, they will be more than happy to hear some snoring rather than their opinion of your marriage, as you would as well.

Depending on how extreme your black sheep is, you may want to avoid them on your wedding day, but if they must be there, some communication before hand may help stave off disaster. Hopefully, they will respect your wishes and acknowledge how important your wedding day is to you, but if this is not effective, you may have an awkward situation on your hands.
